Paddington Bear is in town and I for one can’t wait to meet him. Like so many people Paddington was part of my childhood. I loved reading the books by Michael Bond. The little duffel coated bear from Darkest Peru who stored Marmalade Sandwiches under his hat and delivered a mean line in hard stares captured my imagination. He has remained a firm fixture in my store of happy memories ever since.
My mum reminded me this week that I went to a fancy dress party dressed as Paddington when I was around 6 or 7 years old (so proud!) I’m not sure any pictures still exist but I clearly remember red wellies and a chequered duffel coat being involved.
I’ve seen the film trailer and I’m probably more excited than a 40 something woman should be. Now I just have to persuade my hubby that taking his wife to see The Paddington Movie is a perfect date.
