The Magpie by Claude Monet (1869)

Monet

Although there is no sign of snow in London,  I know those in the North of the country have already been experiencing wintry showers with more predicted for the next few days.  With that in mind I have chosen this snowy scene to share with you.  I adore the soft light and peace in this picture by Monet. It reminds me of the thick blankets of snow that seemed to cover the Norfolk village I grew up in with predictable regularity when I was a child.  I hope you enjoy it too and experience a little peace and tranquility yourselves this weekend.
