One Lovely Blog Award

Thank you to Claire at Celebrate Creation for the one lovely blog badge.  Always nice to be recognised by fellow bloggers. Being awarded the badge, requires you to write a post with seven facts about yourself and then nominate up to 15 other bloggers.  So here are my 7 facts.

  1. My first real encounter with my husband was when I was 4 years old. We starred together in our primary school Christmas play. As far as I remember we were playing children (apt!) on Christmas Eve. We were each given a gift, me a cuddly lamb, him a toy drum. 10 years later we went on our first date, 11 years after that we were married. The rest is history as they say.

  2. My signature desert is Tiramisu. Despite having no Italian connection I make a pretty mean Tiramisu. It’s the generous portion of chopped chocolate added to the mascarpone mix that elevates it to irresistible status.

  3. I visited Antarctica as part of a 6 month travelling sabbatical from work. We were fortunate to get there as  M/S Explorer, the ship we were scheduled to be on sprung a leak and sank just days before we were to set sail. Fortunately we were able to secure a passage on another ship. Antarctica is the most magical place on earth and I long to return some day.

  4. I have always adored reading and Enid Blyton was an integral part of my childhood. The Famous Five, The Secret Seven, The Magic Faraway Tree, Amelia Jane, The Wishing Tree. All filled many of my waking hours, aswell as those when I should have been sleeping. They are all still alive and well in my imagination today.

  5. I love to run.  In 2009 I ran the London marathon.  Apart from my wedding day it was the happiest day of my life (a big claim I know but it was amazing).  I can immediately feel tears pricking the back of my eyes when I remember the joy of running across Tower Bridge.  It was at that point the months of hard training and the reality of achieving my dream hit me.

  6. I have been chosen to be a World Book Night Book Giver Volunteer.  It’s the first time I have applied and I am very excited I shall be giving out copies of When God Was a Rabbit by Sara Winman on 23rd April.

  7. My husband and I have  a plan to travel around Europe in a camper van for out next travelling sabbatical…

So there you have it.  I nominate Stephanie from Lifeat139a, Jo from Alwaysthinkyoucan Barb from ritewhileucan
