Not Quite The Weekend I Had Planned

Those of you who were kind enough to read last weeks 5 on Friday Post may remember I was all geared up for a chilly Autumn weekend.  Things didn’t quite work out as planned.  Saturday morning saw me slapping on the sun cream as the temperature climbed.  Rather than making soup and cosying up inside, we saddled up our bikes and cycled along the Thames.  Our cycle ride took us to the  fabulous ‘Rising Tide’ horse sculptures on the shores of the river at Vauxhall.  The four sculptures appear and disappear as the tide flows in and out. They are both impressive and slightly eerie and  are only there until the end of September.  So if you are in or around London and have time pop along and see them.Rising Tide

The mild temperatures also allowed for lunch and reading in the garden whilst enjoying  the last of our fading summer blooms.  Garden

So, it was an unexpectedly warm weekend and I won’t be taking up a career as a meteorologist anytime soon!
