I need no excuse to visit Hampstead, but if I did Burgh House on a warm September evening to hear Nina Stibbe talk about her first Novel ‘Man at the Helm’ was it. Apart front the great selection of authors Daunt books always choose such lovely locations their events too. The evening was entertaining and relaxed with Nina’s large family presence making for some amusing heckles. Nina is completely at home in front of an audience and apart from reading from her novel she regaled the audience with many stories from her 1970’s childhood. Arctic rolls were a pleasingly regular feature of discussion. The whole event was somewhat chaotic but a great hoot, and I suspect a fitting introduction to ‘Man at The Helm’
