Julia Fordham performed at the glorious Cadogan Hall in London on Friday evening, and I was fortunate enough to be there. It was the first time I had heard her music, and I’m not really sure why it has taken me so long. She has an impressive vocal range, an easy way with the audience and an appealing quirkiness. Her music is soulful, sometimes serious and sometimes sad. The concert was part of her 25 year anniversary tour celebrating the release of her acclaimed Porcelain album. The enthusiastic Julia Fordham devotees in the audience and the addition of some latin tunes to the set made for a jolly evening. I shall without doubt be adding some Julia Fordham CD’s to my Christmas wish list.
