How did it suddenly become the weekend again. I know everyone is saying it, but really, where is the year going to?
Here are a few of the reviews and books that have caught my eye as I’ve tripped my away around some of my favourite blogs this week
- The Writes of Woman reviews the irresistibly named ‘2a.m. at the Cat’s Pajamas’ by Marie-Helene Bertino. The story takes place over 24 hours beginning on the eve of Christmas Eve which could make this an ideal pre Christmas reading indulgence
- The Book Corner reviews ‘Elizabeth is Missing’ by Emma Healey. This is a mystery with the main character Maud, an elderly lady with dementia being compared to Christopher from Mark Haddon’s ‘The Curious Mystery of The Dog in The Night Time’. That comparison alone makes me want to read this.
- Hardi Grant Books is a publisher that has recently caught my attention (look out for my upcoming post). ‘Holiday at Home’ by Jason Grant is one of their gorgeous books that I will be adding to my Christmas List. An interiors book about making your home feel like your very own holiday home sounds good to me. I love travelling and collecting treasures from my travels so any help on how to display these and fill my home full of holiday memories would be a lovely addition to my books shelves.
With a wet and murky forecast for the weekend in the UK, it could be the perfect time to snuggle down with a good book or two. As for me I’m off to gather a bit of Christmas Spirit at The Ideal Homes Christmas Show!
Whatever your weekend plans, I hope you have a little time to enjoy some lovely books xx
