Now I don’t have a dedicated writing room or even a dedicated writing desk. Much of my writing is done either in our kitchen, or with my laptop on my knees in the lounge or in my preferred option, our local coffee shop. We are fortunate enough to have a tiny bedroom used as an ‘office’ but to tell you the truth despite the book shelves it doesn’t really feel like my space. My husband works from home quite regularly and so the office space is taken up with his paraphernalia; and his chosen paraphernalia wouldn’t necessarily be my chosen paraphernalia. I’m a flowers and pretty stationery girl and he’s a little bit more about the bits and bytes. I’m sure you get the picture. Anyway that doesn’t stop me dreaming of my ideal writing room, and I’m quietly plotting how I might be able to incorporate a desk into the bookshelving plans we have for our dining room.
