Certainly for the first part of this weekend I don’t intend to be wandering very far. I am running the London Royal Parks half marathon on Sunday and unfortunately have been fighting off a cold this week and feeling a little below par. Definitely not the best way to approach a half marathon. Therefore Friday night and Saturday will be spent pretty close to home in order to rest and recuperate in preparation. I shall also be taking the need to carb load seriously with pizza and pasta featuring heavily on the chez Vincent menu.
I’m also determined to do a bit of sorting this weekend. We have a cupboard under our stairs, my husband affectionally refers to as ‘the buckeroo cupboard’ because every time we open it we never know quite what might fall out of it. It could be time to tackle it along with the summer clothes cull. I’m definitely in the mood to do some sorting. Although I will never be a minimalist, I like things around me far too much, I did find this post on decluttering from The Private Life of a Girl quite a helpful read.
Should you be out and about this weekend, you may want to visit your local book shop. As you know I need little (no) excuse to visit a book shop and tomorrow is the UK’s inaugural National Bookshop Day. Bookshops the length and breadth of the UK will be celebrating this. If you are looking for some book shop inspiration you can read about some I have visited here and here. The Bookshop around the Corner Blog also has very useful alphabetical and geographical lists of independent bookshops.
Back to that half marathon. Should you be in London on Sunday and fancy cheering on the 16000 runners who will take to London’s streets and parks, the guide here tells you where you need to be to get the best views. Its a great race taking in some of London’s most iconic landmarks. Even if you don’t know anyone running I’m sure you will enjoy the fabulous atmosphere.
Have a great weekend everyone. See you on the other side!
Very best wishes for your half marathon on Sunday. Lots of love xxx
