Celebrating 21 Years
Any one who reads this regularly will know that I work as a Macmillan nursein a hospital specialist palliative care team and feel passionately about the importance of good palliative care in all settings. The place I really learnt my palliative care was. The Pembridge Hospice is the place I really learnt my palliative care for well over 8 years. This week it was great to join up with ex friends and colleagues to celebrate 21 years of The Pembridge Hospice. It was a great to be able celebrate with a glass of fizz the difference this hospice has made to so many lives over the years and to hear about plans for the future care of patients and their families.
A Hair Do and a Finished Book
A cut and some highlights is always a sure way of making me feel good. One of the not so good things about it, is it takes so long. Sitting in a hairdressers chair for 2 1/2 hours on a precious day off can feel like a frustratingly long time. On this occasion it was the perfect time, as I was able to read uninterrupted for at least that of that and managed to finish ‘Requiem for a Wren’ by Nevil Shute. Brilliant.
Paddington 2
I love Paddington and was very disappointed not to see Paddington 2 when it was on at the cinema a few months ago. However a snowy, cold weekend was the perfect opportunity to finally watch it at home. I adored it in every way and i’m not ashamed to admit tears may have been shed!
Wishing you all a week with joyful moments and hopefully some sunshine too!
