Lots of joy today as it’s our wedding anniversary and we celebrate 23 years of wedded joy!
Living in London brings us both of so much joy and this week as summer continues to bless us with mostly warm days and evenings, we have enjoyed many things together in our beloved city.
Exit The King at The National Theatre
There are some theatres you go to and just know you will never be disappointed. The National is one of them, so my expectations for ‘Exit The King’ were high. I was not disappointed. This performance starring Rhys Ifans, who is quickly becoming one of my favourite actors was outstanding. This story of a 400 year old king who is dying but is not ready to die is funny and moving and extraordinarily powerful. I was literally spell bound for the whole of the final emotional scene. I can’t recommend this enough. There are still tickets, so if you are in London and want to see something which will challenge you and make you laugh and cry, then this is for you.
Breakfast at The Wolseley
The Wolseley is a London institution. We had dinner there earlier this year with friends to celebrate my husbands birthday. Its a great place to eat brunch too. Elegant surroundings, silver tea services, a huge menu and the best banana bread with vanilla butter I’ve ever eaten.
Vintage Car Boot Sale
This vintage inspired car boot sale is held twice a year behind Kings Cross station. Its the second time we have been along and its lots of fun. I love rooting through the racks of vintage clothes and stalls of bric a brac. There is always a great atmosphere with music and lots of beautifully attired people draped across glossy cars from the 1950s, or restored vintage VW camper vans which could have just pulled over from the 1960’s.
Dinner and Jazz at Ronnie Scotts
We had been meaning to go to the legendary Ronnie Scotts in Soho for some time, and a wedding anniversary when The James Taylor Quartet just happened to be the main act was the perfect reason. This is such a great venue, the food was great, the music was excellent and we came away with a very jazzy swing in our step.
This week will be somewhat quieter! What ever your week has in store, may you find moments of joy within it.
Happy Anniversary both of you! Congratulations πΈπ₯β€οΈππππ
