I’ve written a little about Podcasts previously, but this summer has really been the summer of the podcast for me. I enjoyed listening to my favourites but also discovered some excellent new ones. These pod casts have kept me company when out running or walking, or on the bus, when pottering in the kitchen and even when doing housework!
One podcasts I discovered at the beginning of the summer and I have loved listening to is Ctrl, Alt, Delete by Emma Gannon. Emma’s pod cast discusses work, social media and careers and features a stellar cast of guests from writers to actresses to social media influencers. The first episode I listened to was an interview with Elizabeth Gilbert. This also happened to be the first episode of the podcast and probably speaks volumes about Emma’s credentials as a gifted present.
You will likely know Elizabeth Gilbert from her hugely popular and best selling memoir Eat, Love Pray, which went on to be made in to a film and was a best seller all over the world. Amazingly its now 10 years since its publication.
During this episode Elizabeth Gilbert talks with Emma about her best selling novel and the impact it had and continues to have 10 years on. She talks about social media and the influence of that on her work now. She also talks most interestingly about creativity and magic how to just get stuff done! Elizabeth is a great believer in sharing what you are working on as a way of becoming accountable to your self but also actually getting on and doing it. As someone who is not always very good at talking about what I’m creating or even thinking about creating, I was really interested in this idea. Once an idea is out there, its out there, so just get on and do it!
Elizabeth also talks about there relationship with clothes. She loves them, and she has fascinating ways of using them to her advantage. Listen to the podcast to find out more!
I was so inspired by this interview, and went on to read Elizabeths book ‘Big Magic. Creative Living Beyond Fear’, which I have found equally inspiring and may well talk about on these pages soon.
If you want to listen Elizabeths interview on the Ctrl, Alt, Delete Podcast, I have included the link below.
If this weekend you are looking to be inspired to get on and be creative then do have a listen to this and some of the other excellent episodes on the Ctrl, Alt, Delete podcast.
