As a nurse and NHS employee of many years, I have always felt very proud of the NHS, however thankfully I have rarely needed to be on the receiving end of NHS care. Despite the pain, and the treatment I had to have in a very busy department, my experience at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington on Thursday evening was overwhelmingly positive. I was seen quickly and was treated with nothing but kindness and compassion.
After getting over the initial frustration and realisation that my plans for the next couple of weeks would have to change a little, I’m trying to seek the positive and re-think how I can do things like make mince pies and a Christmas wreathe one handed! I have certainly found joy in the knowledge that my Christmas cads are written, I have almost finished my Christmas shopping and that I fractured my left wrist rather than the right one.
I am a great believer that there is purpose in all things and that we can learn and grow from all experiences. As I embark on another week, which is not looking quite as I had expected, I am ready to learn what I can, find the positive, and be prepared for the unexpected!
As an aside London is looking just beautiful during this festive season.
Have a wonderful week
Fabulous pics. I’m sure you’ll manage to do everything beautifully with only one hand Angie – just as you always do everything so well. Take care and heal quickly xxxxx
