Day 15: Elizabeth Street

Day 15: Elizabeth Street

During advent here are many doors to open on Elizabeth Street and during this time they all lead your into beautifully decorated festive wonderlands.  The shops, restaurants and cafes on Elizabeth Street are mostly small and independent. The shops sell perfumes, flowers, clothes, perfumes and homewares. Many will visit Elizabeth Street for Peggy Porschen’s cafe  and her coveted cupcakes.  At this time of year you can guarantee this store will be wrapped up in pink ribbons and bows.

Although a fan of pink, I prefer some of the decorations on the other shops. Jo Loves always looks beautiful, and as you would expect from anything Jo Malone related, the aromas seeping under the door are also delicious.  Moyes Stevens has a pretty store here too, so Elizabeth street is always filled with flowers whatever the season.  In fact most of the year many of the shops have a seasonal floral display so it is always a pretty place to visit,

This is one of my favourite Quiet London venues for a browse and a wander.  This little corner of Belgravia is mostly not busy despite its closeness to Chelsea and Victoria.  There are cafes to stop for coffee and lots of widow gazing opportunities. It is just moments from Eccleston Yards a good place for lunch .

Every year there is a Christmas market  on Elizabeth Street for one day only. I have yet to visit but I shall add it to my Christmas wish list for 2023.

I “discovered” Elizabeth Street last year during Chelsea when I stayed just down the street. What a gem! Would love to go to the Christmas market next year: will you alert us as to dates???

Hi Libby, it really is a gem isn’t it. Yes I will keep my ear to the ground for next year
