A showery bank holiday was made all the more colourful with a visit to the Canal Cavalcade – don’t you just love that name? Every May Day weekend, a collection of beautiful canal boats gather in Little Venice, Paddington in celebration of all things canal. Bunting, flags and beautifully decorated boats create quite a show. The carnival atmosphere is helped along by the various food and drinks stalls selling everything from caribbean cuisine to German sausages to French street food (whatever that is). Boat people are good people to be around. Boat people understand what it means to be still and take life slowly. It was a pleasure to be in their company and the company of all those folk filled with the joy of being surrounded by so much colour and creativity. I couldn’t resist sharing just some of the photos I snapped with you.
