About Me

Welcome to Changing-Pages. Thank you for taking the time to call by.

I’m Angie, a 40 something fully paid up bookworm, living and working in London.  By day you will find me working in a busy hospital as a Macmillan Palliative Care Nurse Specialist.  Doing a job where much of my time  is spent with people approaching the end of their lives, I have learnt how important it is to remember each day is a gift (even the rubbish ones). My aim is to do those things which make my heart sing and spend time with those who make me smile.

I adore living in London and am very aware of the privilege of being surrounded by wonderful buildings, beautiful parks, fabulous art galleries and museums and of course a vast array of shopping opportunities. I am inspired daily by these and try to take every opportunity to embrace this fabulous city and all it has to offer.

A love of books, reading and writing has always been a big part of my life.  ‘Changing pages’ began as a natural extension of that in 2014, and is a continuation of many years of dedicated scribbling and journal keeping. In fact I can honestly say I rarely enter a book shop and come out empty handed. When I am not reading books I can often be found writing about them or thinking about what I might read next.  I love a challenge, and would include running the London Marathon, and a trek to Everest Base Camp as some of my happiest and most gruelling times.

What you will find

You will find an almost weekly book review along side posts on all things of a literary nature.  I love to feature book shops I have visited and you will find them in my beautiful book shops section. I love a literary event  often write about those I attend.  Cooked Books has featured reviews of some of the many cookery books which line my shelves.

This is a London based blog and I regularly post about my forays into exhibitions, galleries, museums and all manner of other events in this fabulous city.  Travel further afield is also a big part of my life and I love to share about my adventures in other lands.

A popular and long running series was my 5 on Friday posts which this year has been replaced by the equally popular ‘Weekend Wander’.  This is where I share my ideas of where you might want to consider wandering over the weekend, be it geographically, creatively or metaphysically!

My hope is that by reading Changing-pages, you will feel inspired to pick up a book, or visit an exhibition and immerse yourself in something that makes you glad.  I love London, I love books, and I love to share those things.

Featured Work

My work has been featured on Post 40 Bloggers and I am a regular contributor to The Black Lion Journal

“Angela Vincent is a marvellous writer and book reviewer. Her experience in book reviewing comes across in how she represents each book, right down to the book’s image. Small details like that make a difference between a traditional book review to one that is approachable and friendly.”
