As many of you will know there is little I like more than some pretty or quirky stationery. There are so many great websites and blogs dedicated to stationery these days that I am often spoilt for choice when looking for something as a gift or just to treat myself with. However, one place I know I will always find something I love is at The Green Gables.
The Green Gables is owned by Gabrielle who designs the stationery and gifts herself. I love the beautiful, unfussy and stylish products but I also love the ethos of this little company. All the products are printed on recycled paper made in the UK with the aim of doing as little damage to the environment as possible.
The stationery and gifts are all created to bring joy to whoever they are intended for which is an altogether lovely thing! I recently had good reason to do a little online shopping with The Green Gables. With a couple of weddings and my Mum’s birthday I was looking for something special and I came across these, ‘Lovely Mum Notes’ and the ‘Newlyweds Date Jar.’
The ‘Newlyweds Date Jar’ is simply a jar and a collection of blank cards on which the happy couple can write lots of ideas for dates during their first year of wedded bliss. Each time they are planning a date, they dip into the jar and see where it takes them. I bought this for friends recently and popped a couple of my own date ideas for them into the jar before I gave it to them.I also bought a couple of these wedding cards which I had personalised with my friends married name.
The ‘Lovely Mum Notes’ were a perfect birthday gift for my lovely Mum earlier this summer. A box of 12 cards and cute brown envelopes. The cards are printed on one side and left blank on the other so you can write your own message.
I enjoyed writing on these cards and popping them into the envelopes which I customised with a little washi tape. You may not be the sentimental type, or your mum miay not be but you can write anything you like on these cards, a memory of a funny situation, anything which might make your mum smile. I dated all the envelopes so that my mum opens them on the same day of each month for a whole year until her next birthday. A birthday present that lasts all year is the kind of present its good to give and even better to receive! Where do you go for your online stationery fix? Let me know, I love recommendations and new places to shop.
