My Moments of Joy #12

The Royal Wedding

So many moments of joy.  Although interested I had certainly did not have wedding fever at all, and if I’m honest it was only about 2 days before that I began to think about it at all.  I was therefore completely unprepared for how much I loved it.  The whole wedding was one of joy. The beautiful English weather, glorious windsor castle, the colourful clothes on so many of the guests, the sweet bridesmaids and cheeky page boys, the smiles, the gospel choir, the excellent Bishop Michael Curry and his fabulous sermon abut the power of love and of course the gorgeous couple.  I adored it all in every way.

The Beautiful English Country Side.

Although a city dweller of well over 20 years I was born in the beautiful county of Norfolk, and hold on very dearly to those country routes.  Earlier today I drove back to Norfolk and was filled with joy at the beauty all around me.   The freshness of the trees once again decorated in bright green leaves, fields lined with spectacular displays of pretty white hawthorn, verges covered in frothy cow parsley and the warm light illuminating it all.  One of those ‘I’m glad to be alive moments’

Our Garden.

This weekend when not watching the royal nuptials I was in the garden, doing a bit of Margo style pottering whilst the hubby did those jobs that required brute force and large tools to make him feel all Bear Grylls.    Being able to step from our kitchen into the garden is one of my great pleasures during the summer, and if I can be outside rather than in, then that is where you will find me.  The bluebells have now all but gone and the abundance of forget me knots are fading fast, but in their place foxgloves and lupins are rearing there pretty heads and the Peonies are looking strong and ready for some flamboyant fabulousness.  Our sweet peas are poking through the soil (some looking more promising than others) and the tubs I have lovingly planted with summer bedding are full of summer promise.

Have a lovely week filled with joy and sunshine X
