Weekend Wander #43 Making plans

This post would have gone out a little earlier, had I not got in from work and become completely distracted by the epic first mens Wimbledon semi final!

Anyway, after the busyness of last weekend, this one  is looking to be somewhat quieter.  Mr V has been stateside and doesn’t arrive back until Saturday afternoon. He will likely be a little sleep deprived and jet lagged so no particular plans have been made.

However as always I do have some things I want to do!  I’m not going on holiday over the summer ( I was in Cornwall and Iceland in June so I have no cause to complain) So I want to make some plans for things to do at home.  I’ve been inspired to do this by the online course ‘A Joyful Summer’ I’m doing as part of the Makelight community of which I’m a member.

Reading

One of those will defiantly be planning  my summer reading.  Just because I won’t be on a beach or somewhere exotic doesn’t mean I can’t have summer holiday reading plans.  I’ll share more of those next week when finalised.

Creativity

A couple of weeks ago I went on an introduction to watercolour painting taught by Michelle from Roxwell Press.  Since then I have been thinking about the importance of scheduling creativity into the week.  Or rather creativity which has no other purpose than enjoyment.  So this weekend I want to set aside some time to paint.

House

Like most people, a little bit of every weekend usually has to be given over to some household tasks.  Apart from the usual washing / ironing cycle, this weekend I want to think about some decorating that needs doing. So I shall be seeking colour inspiration!

Travel

I often contribute to the Faraway Files, travel blog community.  I love contributing to this but also reading about others travels, it a great source of inspiration.  Over the past few weeks I have been saving ideas for day trips, so I want to see how many of those I can squeeze into the next couple of months.

This is the 43rd edition of The Weekend Wander.  It began as a follow on from its predecessor ‘5 on Friday’.  I have enjoyed writing this ‘reasonably’ regular post featuring ideas and plans for the weekend.  However this will be the last one in this particular series.  I have some other ideas in the pipeline for a different series  for the autumn and want to give myself a little breathing space, and time to think about and develop these!

Have a lovely weekend X
