My Moments of Joy #23

As I sat down to write this I realised I have had so many moments of Joy  since my last one of these posts 2 weeks ago, I didn’t know where to start.

A Week with my Mum.

My mum came to stay for a week. This was a treat for both of us.  We don’t live near to each other, so time together is always special. Although I was working for some of the days mum was staying, we still managed to squeeze in lots of good things.  My mum (and Dad) gave me a love of reading and books, so I am never happier than when we can spend time browsing and talking books together.  So a trip to the Chiswick book festival was the ultimate fun thing for us to do.  We listened to some fabulous authors, we browsed books and we bought books.  I won’t say more about the festival here as I think I’ll save it for another post!

Mama Mia 2 – Here we go again.

I’m a little late to the party with this one, but when it came out in the summer and the days and nights were long and hot, the last thing I wanted to do was sit in the cinema. I am so glad I managed to catch it this week.  I know there are many who think these films are terrible. I am not one of them.  I love Abba’s music, I love a happy, feel good movie and I love the beautiful photography of the gorgeous greek setting in this film.  It was such a fun film, and we both came out of the cinema with big smiles on our faces, feeling all the better for having seen it.

A Rainy Weekend.

No I can’t  pretend I’m filled with joy at the prospect of a rainy weekend.  However, because it has been so rainy this weekend, I spent far more time at home and in side than I usually would.  The result of this has b,en some much needed clearing out and sorting.  Bathroom cupboards, a kitchen draw are amongst the things which have come under my scrutiny this weekend. I even managed to part with a few books something I find very hard as you might imagine. I always find a good bit of tidying and reorganisation therapeutic, especially when a trip to a charity shop is the outcome of it.  There is something very gratifying about taking things to a a charity shop.

Home Cooking.

The rainy weekend has put me in full home cook mood.  Toad in the hole, leek and potato soup and a rather good tea loaf have come out of my kitchen this weekend. Joy in cooking and eating today!

Wishing you  a week full of joyful moments X
