Moments of Calm

A Fresh Clean Look

In my last ‘Moments of Calm Post, I wrote about the decorating that was being carried out in our house.  It has continued, but thankfully should be completed tomorrow.  As I said before the process has certainly not been calming, however the almost finished product is.  We have chosen some beautiful light colours.  Our hallway is now bright and welcoming and feels so much better than before, the kitchen is clean and fresh and the bedroom when finished will be an oasis of vintage inspired calm.  This process has been the perfect opportunity to do some spring cleaning and clearing out. We now have bags of things to take to a charity shop and have sold on or two other redundant items.  Knowing our house is no longer full of quite as many things as before feels very good.  We still have lots of sorting to do but knowing it is now well on the way feels very good indeed.  I also firmly believe its easier to feel calmer in an environment which isn’t too cluttered and full of stuff.  I find it much easier to order thoughts and be creative in a clean, peaceful space.

Blossom

Blossom, blossom everywhere, at least it is in London anyway.  And oh my goodness isn’t it beautiful.  Magnolia has come and gone, but the cherrry blossom is now in full bloom and I have even seen some wisteria.  Road sides are lined with candy pink tufts and parks are filled with trees groaning with white and cream and and bubble gum pink petals.  It fills me with so much joy to see it everywhere.  Being amongst the blossom whether walking or running is wonderful and is definitely playing a large part in my wellbeing right now.

My Commute

I am so fortunate to be able to cycle to work.  It makes such a difference to how I feel physically and mentally.  Not being dependent on public transport unless I choose to be gives me at least a little control over my working day.  In fact sometimes the only control!  This week, the days have been cold, but the mornings have been bright and crisp and mostly sunny. Cycling through parks along side trees burgeoning fresh green leaves, and along the river Thames, still and tranquil in the early morning  has given me a real sense of peace this week.  Work has been especially hectic so I have found those cycle rides to and from work have been some beautiful and much needed moments of calm.

Wishing you a cam and gentle week.

How I love blossom Angie! My childhood home had wisteria climbing up the side of it – truly magnificent! There was an abundance of blossom and bright spring flowers in Cornwall, so very beautiful xxx

Beautiful thank you for sharing! There has been a couple of picturesque places around London now that it’s spring. You tend to forget you’re even in London!
