Moments of Calm

Its been a few weeks since I published my last Moments of Calm post, which may be an indication that there haven’t been too many such moments.  It has been a busy few weeks with work and Easter and time with family and friends but thankfully there have also been moments to stop and breathe and be still.

Tales of the River Bank

I don’t know where you go to find calm but as I have written before, being by water is definitely something I find instantly soothing.  Over Easter we spent a beautiful day on my parents in law’s little boat on the river Great Ouse at Ely. The weather was perfect, warm sunshine from morning to evening (remember those days!) and spring was well and truly sprung. Being on a boat is instantly relaxing.  There is nothing to do but sit back, and watch the world go by.  Everything looks different from the river, the ebb and flow of the water and nature takes on a new significance and any freneticism of daily life is washed away.

An Evening Walk

Wasn’t Easter beautiful?  The weather and the gorgeous light were the perfect opportunity to take an evening stroll.  We were staying at my mums for a few days and took full advantage of the very rural location.  Enjoying an evening walk through quiet county lanes and fields was a lovely moment of calm.

Time in our Garden

The weather has been a little up and down the last week or two but there have been some lovely warm days. Days which have been made for being in gardens. One of the ‘problems’ of being a garden owner is that there is always something which needs doing in it.  Although this can become burdensome, I do enjoy getting home form work and having a wander around, (it doesn’t take long, its a small London garden!) pulling a few weeks or admiring our now healthy looking sweet peas. Thankfully my husband is a more dedicated gardener than I am which means I still find time to sit calmly with my book!

Have a beautiful week X
