Day 7: Bageriet

Nothing says Christmas like a Swedish Cinnamon bun from Bageriet.

I have been coming to this sweet little bakery and cafe for a number of years and never love it more than at Christmas time.  It is another little oasis of calm in a city which is busier than ever during the festive season.  The natural decorations, the warm glow from the fairy lights, the pretty shop front, all add to the charm of this hidden gem.

Bageriet is tiny and there is no indoor seating but sitting outside with a hot cup of coffee and one of the delicious seasonal cakes or pastries which is their speciality on a cold winter’s day is instantly warming.

At Christmas their window is filled with the all the specialities which make up a Swedish Christmas.  Swedish gingerbread sponge or gingerbread with marzipan and pear,  sweet yeasted dough with saffron, there are so many sweet treats to decide between. Breakfast, lunch or afternoon pick me up, all are amply catered for here

There are many reasons to visit Bageriet but for me it will always be the cinnamon buns.
