Day 17: Moyes Stevens

Day 17 Moyes Stevens

Moyes Stevens on Pavilion Road,is one of the prettiest florists on one of the prettiest West London Streets. It is also the UK’s longest running florist. The first store was opened on Victoria Street in Belgravia in 1876. Famed for introducing hand tied bouquets, they are also known for a particular artistry and creativity which have won them royal warrants for Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother and currently HRH The Prince of Wales.

During Chelsea Flower Show week their storefronts and displays are almost amongst my favourite.  At Christmas the flowers and decorations here are always beautiful too and I can never resist a little browse.  The wreaths and bouquets are mostly beyond my budget but for some years now I have been purchasing a tiny Christmas tree which is small enough to sit on my desk throughout December. On Christmas Eve  I take this little tree with me to Norfolk and pop it onto my late Dad’s grave where it sits proudly throughout Christmas and New Year.  This has become one of my own Christmas traditions.
