Day 15 – West End Lane Books

West End Lane Books is a small, family-owned shop, and it shows.  The greeting when you open the door and step inside, and the friendly service comes from booksellers who clearly care about their bookshop they describe as ‘fiercely independent’.

The atmosphere is cheerful helped by the colour and festive decorations which fill the windows at this time of year.  There are so many carefully curated books here that I would be very happy to find under the christmas tree.  If you like a signed book then this is definitely a good place to go, there is a large selection of current author signed releases.

The children’s section is extensive and if you have lots of little people in your life, I am sure they would be very excited by a visit to West End Lane Books.

On the bookshop’s website is advice for authors who are self publishing, which is so generous and seems very much in the spirit of this book shop.  There is a programme of regular free author talks, book launches, reading groups and events for schools.

West End Lane Books is the bookshop I wish was in my neighbourhood, although it could get rather expensive

Nearest Tube: West Hampstead, underground or Thames link
