Day 22: Lutyens and Rubinstein

London Bookshop Advent

Day 22: Lutyens and Rubinstein

Step beneath the eye catching striped canopy  into Lutyens and Rubinstein and look up to the sculptures created from the pages of books floating from the ceiling and you know you are in a special bookshop.  Moments from both Books for Cooks and Notting Hill Books, but much calmer and a more gentler approach to book browsing and shopping.

The selection of books here is interesting and often much more varied than that which you would find in a high street chain book store.  The reason for this is that the core stock of books was put together by consulting hundreds of readers, adults and children  about the books they would most like to find in a book shop.

“Every book stocked has its place because somebody loves it and has recommended it”.

A sweet mezzanine floor housing poetry and classics takes you closer to the hanging art and gives you a view onto the floor below where you will find a selection of bags and stationery and other booklovers essentials.

This is my favourite Notting Hill bookshop.

Nearest Tube: Ladbroke Grove or Notting Hill
